Three Spanish restaurants have been ranked in the world's top-10 restaurants according to the Restaurant magazine’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
The New York restaurant Eleven Madison Park, and Osteria Francescana from Modena (Italy) are the number-one and the number-two spots respectively.
The Spanish El Celler de Can Roca in Girona managed by the Roca brothers has slipped one position from last year becoming world’s number three eatery, and getting a special prize for the Art of Hospitality at the magazine’s award ceremony. The restaurant Etxebarri in Atxondo in the Spanish Basque Country has risen to number six, while another Basque eatery Mugaritz has dropped from 7 to 9. With three restaurants in the top 10, Spain remains among the leading countries in terms of world cuisine.
Other Spanish restaurants in the ranking are: Tickets (Barcelona, number 25), Arzak (San Sebastian, number 30), and Azurmendi (Larrabetzu, number 38).
